PS-3D Rigs More Versatile Than Ever

P+S TECHNIK Introduces New Accessories For The PS-Freestyle Rig And The Improved PS-Standard Rig MkII

On set of the first ZDF 3D production Die Huberbuam 3D: Pushing the limits of 3D production with the PS-Freestyle Rig

The German TV channel ZDF very recently produced a 3D feature on the well-known German free climbers and mountaineers Alexander Huber and Thomas Huber, commonly known as the Huberbuam. Stereographer Alaric Hamacher pushed the limits of 3D production when shooting in the vertical. The PS-Freestyle Rig proved well in this exciting project.

PS-Freestyle Magic Support

The new Magic Support for the PS-Freestyle Rig supports a 100% balanced setup on cranes, lambda heads and tripods. Additionally, it works as an adjustable riser on tripods in the 90°-position. It can be mounted almost everywhere and features a quick lock mechanism. Attaching the Freestyle Rig takes only a few seconds.

PS-Freestyle Quarterwave Filter

The polished and multicoated beamsplitter mirrors of P+S TECHNIK split the light exactly 50/50. Anyway, the physics of dielectric mirrors also cause a partial splitting of differently polarized light waves.

Motive with and without polarization artefacts.

P+S TECHNIK now offers a high quality Quarterwave Filter for the PS-Freestyle Rig. It leads to a severe reduction of polarization artefacts without almost no light loss. Additionally, the Quarterwave Filter consisting of optical glass with a high quality coating reduces flare and protects the beamsplitter mirror. The Quarterwave Filter can be mounted and dismantled very quickly with a special quick lock mechanism.

A White Paper concerning polarization artefacts is available in our 3D download section.

PS-Standard Rig MkII

P+S TECHNIK improved the well-known PS-Standard Rig to suit the demands for daily 3D studio production.

The PS-Standard Rig Mk II Upgrade adds the following benefits:

-          Improved stability for cameras > 6 kg and for tilt movements

-          G-force approved

-          End stop for motor calibration to support various lens control systems

-          Improvement for the mechanism for quick release of the front filter

-          Better handling on set and transportation

Existing PS-Standard Rigs can be easily upgraded.

P+S TECHNIK also offers a remote control solution to precisely adjust the PS-Standard Rig with lens control systems such as available from Cmotion and Chrosziel. In combination with the Sony controller MPE-200 and the Cmotion Camin a complete live control configuration is easily set up.

3D Live Integration for PS-Rigs

For both PS-Rigs P+S TECHNIK a 3D live broadcast integration for broadcast transmission is available based on the popular 3D controller box Sony MPE-200 and Cmotion Camin.
